Staying Fit and Healthy
An active lifestyle, good eating and plenty of water are essential in staying fit and healthy.
When exercising, water plays a major role in making sure you perform at your best.
Sweating is the body's main tool for getting rid of excess heat. Our body temperature increases as we become more active and sweating allows us to cool down and regulate our internal temperature.
About 60% of our body is water so it's important to stay on top of hydration, especially when participating in highly active sports like football.
Some signs that you are becoming dehydrated may be:
- - Dizziness
- - Thirstiness
- - Dry, itchy skin
- - Dry mouth
- - Muscle cramps
Remember that by the time you are thirsty, you're probably already dehydrated so it's a good rule of thumb to keep drinking plenty of water throughout the day.
